LES CHEBABS, LE FILM ET MOI

Between 2009 and 2011, Axel Salvatori-Sinz shot a film in Syria on a group of friends, The Chebabs of Yarmouk. At the end of the film, the revolution broke out. Without foreseeing it, the director recorded the last moments of a refugee camp. As the film turns out to be successful, invited in festivals worldwide, the protag- onists remaining in Syria are bombarded. Day in day out, Axel Salvatori-Sinz sees the reality he presents to viewers in theatres vanish and the friendship with the protagonists wearing away. How can this broken friendship be represented? Les Chebabs, le film et moi is the posthumous work by Axel Salvatori-Sinz, who died in January 2018.
