Alice Guy was the first female filmmaker in the world. She is little known today, regardless of her prestigious and prolific career. Created in her memory in 2018, the Alice Guy Prize aims at highlighting the work of female directors by rewarding a feature film made by a woman. In addition to this first prize, the FID’s Alice Guy Prize, introduced in 2020, will go to a female director in the Flash Competition.
The GNCR Award (National Grouping for Research Film) is awarded to a film from the festival selections. The laureate receives support towards the film’s distribution in France (publication of a brochure by the GNCR and programming of the film in GNCR cinemas).
A selection of films in competition are presented to a voluntary group of inmates in agreement with the Marseille Prison Management. The Prize is sponsored by the CNC in the context of buying copyright for the catalogue Images de la Culture.
Awarded by a jury of highschool students’ group from Aix-Marseille Academy university, Thessaloniki, Madrid et Hanover to one of the films in the international, French and First Film competitions in partenership with the Aix-Marseille Academy. The Prize is sponsored by Vacances Bleues.
