The Sahrawi people are waiting in vain for the referendum on self-determination promised by Morocco in 1991. The film was created during that long wait, with Sidahmed, who is tempted by the emancipation of exile, and Zaara, who is in favor of a more pragmatic independence, but who are both prisoners of a paradoxical life, where they have nothing to do, yet everything is possible. That bleak premise is soon swept away by beauty, irony, complicity and laughter, so that day after day, and of course without a script, we get to share the inventiveness of a so-called lost generation.
