Jérôme Noetinger
The man who alone arouses all the sounds in this film, which is named after him, used to manipulate magnetic tape and 16mm film within a trio called Cellule d’intervention Metamkine. The black & white, the decision to shoot on film, the presence of a screen, the absence of dialogue, the attention to gestures, the importance of music, everything in Stefano Canapa’s process has to do with the musician. We never get to hear Jérôme Noetinger’s soft voice, only his sturdy body and angular face appear on screen. This live composition is the portrait of the composer.
