In 1978, in Dawson City in the Yukon, where the Goldrush at the end of the 19th century attracted thousands of prospectors, hundredsof nitrate film reels were unearthed and have miraculously survived. Through the history of these reels buried for over 50 years in the frozen ground then lovingly restored, we see not only the history of Dawson City unravel, but the history of a whole era.
