L’île de Mai

Michel Andrieu, Jacques Kebadian

May 68 – that moment of myriad possibilities and new beginnings – is seen here by its participants, by those who accompanied, sparked, commentated, filmed and photographed this “island in history”, as the title indicates. Retrieving and reassembling the original footage and their commentaries from May to June 1968, with most of the images from their cinema collective ARC and various other comrades in arms, Michel Andrieu and Jacques Kébadian offer an epic fresco and show that the flame burns on.
