DON PAUVROS DE LA MANCHE

Jean-François Pauvros is a guitarist, a man holding a neck with electrified appendices, an heir to the 1960s. The Don Pauvros brought up in the title is a former ballroom musician, a most experimental duettist performer who asserts a lack of naivety regarding appearances. A kind of ingenuous interlocutor is to prompt a monologue that makes us hear the timbre of a speaking voice without a singing equivalent. Guy Girard’s film completes other concert recordings, and their complicity causes a few sparks to fly, all shining with contrasting twinkles.
