In 2017, three centuries after being sold as a slave to Brazil, the spirit of the African queen Agontimé decides to go back to Benin, looking to fulfill her mission of bringing back to Africa the voodoo Zomadônu – her spiritual master – and to reestablish his old worship in the city of Abomey. Six other characters come with her, all of them have theirs personal lives connected with the slavery. They embark in a ship, which crosses the Atlantic Ocean. When they arrive in Benin, Agontimé and her followers will ask for the help of the Agudás, the “Brazilians of Benin”, to gather an army capable to fight against the French, British and Portuguese forces, guardians of the Royal Palace and responsible of the security of the King of Benin.Larissa Figueiredo
