In contrast to the urbanized and industrialized China that has emerged in recent decades, another rural and mountainous China still exists which empties as the other fills. While in the 1960s, every village had its primary school, today they are closing one after the other. In search of ghost-students, Jin Xingzheng presents in this first feature the portrait of those who remain.
