Although the title summons up the danger of an expansive threat, everything in this film is connected by a gentleness that appears to protect the people, homes and objects encountered: machines, construction vehicles, bicycles, pianos, etc. Guillaume Gehannin accurately describes his first film as follows: “On a patch of land in the countryside, a group of friends get together to share memories and live away from the city. In turns surveyors of the undergrowth, swimmers and adventurers, the characters play, laugh and explore their surroundings. All these moments are assembled together in a sort of filmed diary showing memories of summer and freedom, where the camera sits at the centre: discussions, wanderings, silences, both ordinary and extraordinary. The characters feature as their real selves, bearing witnesses to the endless pulse of life, to the grace of youth.” (JPR)
