Well-known for his anagrams, the painter and sculptor Jean Dupuy tells us his story, from his childhood in Auvergne via his life in New York to his move to the hinterland of Nice. Here in the present, both a child and adult at once, he and the film happily and shrewdly stride across the territory of language, from puns to wordplay. A great freedom of tone in the narration and stage directing delightfully turns the difficult practice of the biopic upside down. (FM)Pascal Kané
