IF I WERE ANY FURTHER AWAY I’D BE CLOSER TO HOME

The unreeling of film rolls is opposed to other types of manufactured rolls before the camera. The grain of black and white images revives the people, animals, landscapes. Daily production is put next to domestic life, and work movements give rhythm to the editing. The action seems to include a few elements beside the work itself. The film structures itself beneath our very eyes, driven by new iterations. The absence of a soundtrack only erases the mechanical noise of old projectors. (GG)Rajee Samarasinghe
