LA MORT DE LOUIS XIV

Albert Serra

August 1715 – Returning home after a walk, Louis XIV felt a sharp pain in his leg. Over the next few days, the king fulfilled his duties, but tossed and turned each night, overcome by fever. He ate very little and gradually grew weaker and weaker. It was the beginning of the slow and agonising demise of the greatest king of France, with his closest friends and doctors at his bedside.Albert Serra
