After four films showing the daily monstrosity of the Korean man, Hong Sang-soo takes on the maxim of Aragon. However without directly taking a woman as a heroine – the title says: soon. For the moment, let’s admire his cunning and humour. The woman radically escapes the fiction of the man who, having abandoned her by studying abroad, believes that his return must save her from the city (known for prostitution) where she set up a bar and now lives. The fear of seeing her lost to the empire of pimping is as comical as the image of the pure young woman that he kept in mind, or a married friend’s success with her. (AT)
