On an expedition through the barren landscape of southern Argentina, Hernán takes samples of earth and water from a region that has been affected by the fall of volcanic ash. On an excursion with a group of tourists, a sudden earthquake shakes the land. Back in Buenos Aires, he deals with his last work commitments, leaves his cat with an animal shelter and prepares for a new journey. A shore boat crosses the narrow River Delta, heading to a holiday resort in the area of Tigre where a survival training program will be held. Alongside with housewives, professionals and a retired tennis instructor, Hernán is part of a middle-class community of survivalists, getting ready in case the world was suddenly to come to an end. When yet another earthquake surprises the group on the remote island the idea of an imminent end is reinforced. Their contact with nature will help them restore a survival instinct that seemed to be lost.
