Christmas 1973, the crew of Skylab, NASA’s first space station, went on strike. Based on transcripts of exchanges with the control centre on Earth, Graeme Arnfield reconstructs this obscured episode of space adventure, and paints an iconoclastic portrait of the astronaut as an overworked labourer.
