FIDMarseille initiates and takes part in several European projects in order to strengthen its international presence and to establish cross-border relationships that extend beyond the framework and timeframe of the festival. These projects translate FIDMarseille’s ambition, at a European level, to act as a leading force in the education and development of film audiences.
Doc Alliance Network
Doc Alliance is a cooperative network bringing together seven European festivals: FIDMarseille, CPH:DOX (Copenhagen), Doclisboa (Lisbon), Millennium Docs Against Gravity (Poland), DOK Leipzig, the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, and Visions du Réel (Nyon), along with one guest festival each year.
Its aim is to support filmmakers and producers in the circulation of their works to audiences. Films selected by the network are screened at all seven festivals, thereby gaining increased visibility. With the same objective of promotion, Doc Alliance awards two prizes each year from a selection of films submitted by the seven festivals, drawn from their programming of the previous year.
DaFilms
The Doc Alliance network is behind the DAFilms platform, a dynamic SVOD service offering an alternative circulation route for films that often struggle to find a place on the market. The DAFilms catalogue comprises over 1,000 titles.
Doc Alliance Network of Markets
In 2025, FIDMarseille, alongside three other festivals from the network, strengthened its cooperation by launching the new Doc Alliance Network of Markets platform, designed to reinforce support for European audiovisual creation.
