About

Who are we?

FIDMarseille

FIDMarseille is an international film festival held each year at the beginning of summer in the heart of Marseille. Its programme features numerous world and international premieres, showcasing around a hundred films - fiction and documentary, artist films, short and feature-length. Attuned to singular voices and emerging forms, FID is a key festival for independent cinema, internationally recognized for its vital role in uncovering new talents and pioneering cinematic discoveries. As part of its programme, FIDMarseille pays tribute to major figures in cinema and contemporary art by dedicating extensive retrospectives to them.

Placing particular importance on conviviality and rich exchanges, debates, meetings and discussions begin in the morning in front of the screening rooms and continue late into the night in the festive spaces open to festival-goers.

Each edition is accompanied by FIDLab, an international co-production platform, and FIDCampus, a training residency dedicated to students from art and film schools in European and Mediterranean countries.

Throughout the year, FIDMarseille brings the films presented at the festival to life by organising screenings in Marseille, France and internationally, devising programmes and carte blanche events with numerous partners, and running outreach initiatives and film education workshops for a wide range of audiences.

Circle of Patrons

Created in 2025, the FIDMarseille Circle of Patrons brings together those who wish to commit alongside the festival to support creation and contemporary cinema. By joining the Circle, each member contributes directly to the missions of FIDMarseille — discovering new talents, supporting artistic creation, and promoting bold works from around the world.

Being a patron of FIDMarseille means supporting the festival both financially and symbolically, but also representing it, helping it thrive, and extending its influence beyond its dates and its territory.

Members of the Circle enjoy privileged access to the life of the festival: exclusive meetings with filmmakers and creative teams, previews, private screenings, convivial gatherings, and exchanges centered on auteur cinema and contemporary creation.

The Circle of Patrons is above all a community of friends and enthusiasts, committed to making FIDMarseille a vibrant place of discovery, reflection, and artistic freedom. Members also benefit from a favorable tax framework in France: thanks to our partnership with the Images Dotation Endowment Fund, donations are tax-deductible at a rate of 66%.
