Commitments

FIDMarseille is a festival attentive to contemporary issues and deeply engaged with the major questions shaping our times. This commitment is reflected in its programming, in the very design of the event, and in the social and solidarity-based actions it undertakes.

Aware of the environmental impact inherent in organising a festival—waste production, the concentration of activities over a short period, and the mobility of audiences, guests and teams—FIDMarseille strengthens its commitments to environmental responsibility year after year.

The festival takes place within a limited geographical area, encouraging travel on foot, and makes use exclusively of existing infrastructures (primarily cinemas), thereby limiting its energy footprint. In addition, logistics prioritise short supply chains for catering, reduced use of printed materials, the selection of eco-responsible service providers, and a considered management of resources.

Since 2024, FIDMarseille has been taking part in the COFEES support programme (Collectif des festivals éco-responsables et solidaires en Région Sud). This scheme helps to structure and sustain the festival’s approach to environmental responsibility, team wellbeing and accessibility, while providing FIDMarseille with concrete objectives, an action plan and monitoring tools.
