Gianina, a young Romanian woman, works as a housekeeper for a bourgeois family in Bordeaux. In the evenings, she rehearses with an amateur theatre company, playing the role of a chambermaid in an adaptation of Octave Mirbeau’s Diary of a Chambermaid. Day to day, she looks after Louen, her employers’ son, while her own daughter grows up far away from her, back in Romania. (La Quinzaine des cinéastes)
