A girl, in her twenties, immigrates to the West, in order to earn money. She arrives in Marseille. While working as a waitress at a local neighborhood restaurant, she soon gets involved with a petty crime gang. They become her only “family” in her new foreign world. She then meets a man, older than her, raising a child on his own. He offers her a job as an au pair. She accepts and moves in with the man and his child. She is young and rather pretty. He’s rather wealthy, and charming. A flirt starts between the man and the girl. Yet some nights, she continues to see her old gang. One day, the man finds his house burgled. He immediately calls the police. The girl attempts to commit suicide, finding out that her friends’ gang has used her, in order to rob the man’s house. The man looks for the girl at the hospital, but she is immediately taken into police custody. He tries to pull her out of arrest. The girl is obliged to confront with her friends, with her fantasies, to make herself a place in the world.
