Re-Re : Méditerranée is a remake of Jean-Daniel Pollet’s film from 1963 Méditerranée. It is, to be more exact, a forward, like we do for an email, some sort of reality which was forwarded with a computer as an augmented reality. The original film was a trigger to draw a picture of today’s Mediterranean Sea. Because the face of the Mediterranean in 1963, is not the same as today. The necessity to paint its new face has beco- me obvious with the use of new digital tools.
Re-Re : Méditerranée is a film about today’s Mediterranean Sea made from security cameras installed on the beaches by the city authorities, tourist offices, surfers’ as- sociations, or private individuals as a 2.0 version of perception. It is a long circular journey along the Mediterranean Sea which takes shape through a text by the writer Nathalie Quintane.
