The film originates from an audiovisual record on VHS made in 1991 by the Wichí community, within the framework of the demand to a private for illegal usurpation of the territory. The indigenous perspective is printed on those tapes that go through the Chaco forest and also in some other documents that constitute the trial files.
The protagonists of Our demand are the indigenous leaders of Pi’Wet who, with humor and intelligence, display before our eyes a complex and moving mechanism, of translation from the Wichi Lhämtès language and from the indigenous thinking system itself to a idiom that the Western world can understand.
During this process of defending the community property, we access the communication efforts made by indigenous communities in order for the contemporary world to be able to witness its social functioning deeply linked to the preservation of natural resources.
