Ollin Blood
As the lockdown in Mexico City intensifies, a group of Mexican and Japanese friends find themselves mysteriously entangled into the hi/story of the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán valley that hosts the biggest cactus forest of the world. This hostile, “thorny”, almost forbidden zone reveals itself as a world wide theatre for illegal plant trafficking as well as various spiritual experiments. Nighttime, dream and death slowly wrap the protagonists into a spiral of transformations only to maybe bring them back to their own isolation… A meditation upon the globalised exploitation of natural resources and the new curses it brings about.
