Four listening sessions programmed and presented by first-year students of the CREADOC Master’s programme (University of Poitiers). The “sound films”, phonic pieces and essays brought together here are so many singular attempts to probe contemporary worlds, far from the invasive voices.
Under the guidance of Robert Bonamy, a programme curated by the first-year CREADOC Master’s students : Ailish Furniss, Alice Marquet, Elise Arnould, Hugo Vasseur, Irina Villepreux, Ismael Camara-Silvestre, Laure Marty-Anahory, Marie Le Hir, Mathilde Nguyen Phan Dau, Mila Guilloux, Zoé Jean-Toussaint
Session 4: Imprints
From a casino where materiality reigns supreme, where playing cards are exchanged for money amid a chaotic atmosphere, we slip into an entirely imaginary space: a peaceful, fragmentary house, built solely from sound. This house then becomes a portable, indestructible refuge, conjuring the image of all those houses that wars have ravaged.
From this point on, sound becomes a shelter, a memory capable of preserving a space in the face of its material disappearance. This idea resonates with a sound diary from Gaza, in which the fragile traces of a place under threat of disappearance still linger.
