Bx46, made up of trajectories and stations, runs between three places. The legendary fish market in New York that recently moved to the Bronx, the empty shell of which is still in Manhattan. The Vernon C. Bain Correctional Center: a barge docked in front of Rikers Island (a prison island). And the Metropolitan Waste Transfer Facility. To get right into the heart of these places, the young filmmakers get the warehousemen (commonly known as “journeymen”) who work there to talk. So it is a journey, but one that is almost motionless, in the middle of fish, tools and legends. (JPR)
