In 1999 he entered the Centro de Capacitacion Cinematográfica where he directed
Some award-winning short films and graduated in film direction in 2007.

He is the co-founder of the production company Axolote Cine and between the years 2006 and 2016 they produced and co-produced over 15 feature and short films. Amongst them are Michel Lipkes´s two feature films, ¨Malaventura¨ and ¨Extraño pero verdadero¨.

He was head programmer of Mexico City´s international contemporary film festival
(FICCO) from 2004 to 2008. He collaborated in the Roberto Gavaldon retrospective
in the Film society at Lincoln center in 2008. In 2009 and 2010 he worked in the
Guadalajara international film festival programming the section ¨Alternative
Currents¨. He also founded the Riviera Maya film festival and from 2011 until 2013 he programmed in the Cineteca nacional retrospectives and contemporary cinema showcases.

He has co-distributed the films ¨Tarnation¨ by Jonathan Caouette,¨Darwin´s nightmare¨ by Hubert Sauper,¨Trash humpers¨ by Harmony Korine, ¨Un lac¨ and ¨Malgre la nuit¨ by Philippe Grandrieux, ¨Heaven knows what¨ by Joshua and Ben Safdie,¨Swagger¨ by Olivier Babinet, ¨Ray and Liz¨ by Richard Billingham and many others.

He has also taught filmmaking in the Centro de Capacitacion Cinematografica, the Academia de San Carlos, the Escuela superior de cine and the Faro de Aragon.

Since 2018 he has been artistic director of FICUNAM in Mexico City.
