His projects, which are often collaborative, take
the form of performances, videos, installations,
publications, as well as public encounters.
This work in progress session will begin with a
screening of his short film, The Fig, the Spine,
the Shield co-directed in 2020 with Eulàlia
Rovira. Adrian Schindler will then discuss his first
feature film, currently in development: Through
the prism of the ghost, this film seeks out the
traces that the colonial past in Morocco has left
on Spanish society, both in cultural production,
public space and in the collective imagination.
The film will be shot between Barcelona (in
particular La Plaça Tetuan), Madrid (Tetuán de
las Victorias’s neighborhood) and Tetouan (the
Espanol cinema) in a choral manner with a group
of actors, researchers and activists from both
Morocco and Spain, encouraging a polyphonic
critical space as well as the emergence of other
forms of narratives.
