Imprisoned in Brazil for drug trafficking, Chris Kirk, a bright-eyed and rather handsome U.S. citizen, sits before us in orange prison-inmate garb. However, it is not the saga of his problems with the law that will be revealed. Instead, we become the rapidly-hooked recipients of a love story and its curious twists and turns. Chris is infatuated with V., a Japanese-Colombian woman who will give him (and us) a hard time. In this film the directing duo extol the power of narrative and various means of contrivance.
