Marie Reinert was born in France in 1971, she lives and works in Valmondois (France). She has developed her working practice combining video, installation, drawing, performance and sound. Her work is carried out on residencies, more often than not inside the world of work. Generating collaborations with people on site, or inviting participants to react/get involved, she has worked with dancers, architects, musicians and ergonomists, etc. The body is the key focus of her research, which incorporates strategies of infiltration, observation and archiving to examine the systems, codes and protocols that condition the movements of bodies in their spatial and social environment. Marie Reinert has taken part in several exhibitions in France and further afield: The See is glowing, Rijeka, Croatie (2020, Biennale de Lyon, France (2019), Nanjing Festival, China (2016/2017), Défense Yokohama, Frac Paca, Marseille (2014/2015), Aichi triennale, Nagoya, Japon (2013), Dutch National Bank, Amsterdam (2013); Festival Hors Pistes, Centre Pompidou, Paris (2013); Centre de la Imatge, Barcelone (2012); Musée de l’Arsenal, Kyiv (2011); Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2011); Bunker, Berlin (2011); Printemps de Septembre, Musée des Abattoirs, Toulouse (2010); MAC/VAL, Vitry-sur-Seine (2009); Le Plateau, Frac Île-de-France (2007). Her work is displayed in several public and private collections.
