Born in 1987 in Algers, Djamel Kerkar, after having put an end to his studies in economics, chose cinema by directing two short films : Earth is full of ghosts and Archipelago. He then collabored in the direction of fiction films and documentaries as well as video installations. He directed his first feature film Atlal in 2016 which received the Premier Prize at FIDMarseille as well as two special mentions from the GNCR and the international online critics. Currently Djamel is developing several projects in hybrid forms where he explores the idea of a memorial cartography. He is now shooting his next feature film.
