Born in Belgium, Chantal Crousel has founded the Chantal Crousel gallery in Paris in 1980. Since then, she has been unveiling to the public as well as to the French and international institutions the multidisciplinary work of artists of highly diverse origin, which share in common the revelation of the essential values that underlie contemporary society. She has organized, among others, the first solo exhibitions in France of various artists such as Tony Cragg in 1980, Cindy Sherman in 1982, Gabriel Orozco in 1994, Mona Hatoum and Zang Peili in 1993, Hassan Khan and Allora & Calzadilla in 2004 and Wang Bing in 2009. The majority of the gallery artists are now present in the most important public and private, French and international collections. Committed to promoting nowadays artistic diversity, Chantal Crousel regularly contributes with her experience to numerous cultural events.
