Alice Rochwacher

Alice Rohrwacher was born in 1981 in Fiesole, Italy. She graduated from Torino University in Literature and Philosophy, and worked with music, education and film-editing. Her feature film debut, Corpo Celeste (2011), premiered at Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight and later on played in many festivals, among which Sundance FF. The film was nominated for Best New Director at the David di Donatello Awards in 2012, and won the Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award at Gothenburg, the Nastri d’Argento (Italy’s Film Critics Association Awards), and the Ciak d’Oro for Best Debut Film. Her second feature The Wonders was presented in Cannes 2014 (Grand Prix – Cannes FF, CineVision Award – Munich FF, Black Pearl – Abu Dhabi Film Festival ). She lives in Umbria, Italy.
