In addition to in-theater Q&As, every afternoon from Wednesday to Saturday, FIDMarseille organizes an hour and a half of discussions to reflect on the contemporary situation of independent cinema, take a step back from the preconceptions of the 35th edition of the festival and explore the questions it raises.

The forums will be broadcast on Radio Grenouille during the week of the festival, as well as a series of ‘Cinémoi’, brief interviews with filmmakers.

Meeting with Agathe Bonitzer

A free talk about her work as an actress, her career and the films of Sophie Fillières, whom se worked for as an actress and whose latest film she completed with her brother (Ma vie ma gueule).

Moderator: Marilou Duponchel (journalist, critic at Inrockuptibles, Trois Couleurs, programmer at Cannes Film Festival’s Semaine de la Critique).

Artificial intelligence, youtube, streaming, desktop movies: what writings for all these images?

Faced with the flood of images that are recorded, poured out, manipulated and programmed, cinema has to invent strategies and scripts to reinvent its critical distance and its power of thought. Case studies.

Festivals and their partners: critical role and editorial policy

Against a backdrop of multiple crises in the film industry (distribution, criticism, etc.), festivals have new roles to play. Some are becoming key venues for critical thinking and developing editorial policies. An overview and an outlook.
