Alice Guy est le nom de la première cinéaste au monde, oubliée malgré une carrière prestigieuse et foisonnante. Créé à sa mémoire en 2018, le Prix Alice Guy a vocation à valoriser le travail des réalisatrices en récompensant un long métrage de l’une d’entre elles. Le Prix Alice Guy du FID, initié en 2020, sera attribué par le jury Flash au film d’une réalisatrice présente au sein de la Compétition Flash.

The jury will focus on the experimental dimension or the innovative nature in the conception, reflexive strength and capacities of the film to question the world and its representation. The Award is sponsored by the Cnap.
Attribué à un film issu des différentes sélections par un jury d’exploitants nommés par le GNCR, sous la forme d’un soutien à la distribution en France (édition par le GNCR d’un document et programmation du film dans les salles du groupement).
With support from the Inter-regional Directorate of Prison Services of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) and Corsica, the Marseille Prison Centre and the Centre National du Cinéma (CNC), the association “Lieux Fictifs” partnered with the Masters course in documentary filmmaking of Aix-Marseille University and with FIDMarseille to bring the film festival to the prison of Marseille Les Baumettes. Ten films from the competition will be selected based on their potential interest and suitability, and presented to a voluntary audience of inmates. The participants who have watched the entire programme will have the opportunity to become jury members and nominate a laureate.
Each film will be presented by students from Aix-Marseille University and where possible by their director.
The Prize is endowed by the CNC, who purchases the rights for the laureate film for their “Images de la Culture” catalogue.

The audience will rate the films from the International, French, First films and Flash competitions. The film with the highest score will receive the Audience Award.
