Talena Sanders (Liahona, FIDMarseille 2013) captures Mary MacLane’s life, a turn of the twentieth century American author, feminist film-maker and agitator whose joyful writings reflect her unseizable personality. Through a recomposition of the universe of an inimitable artist by another artist, this film enables the crossing of academic and cinematographic writing, of archives and reconstitution, of past and present, as in a multi-vocal journal through which vital energies make uses and norms burst up.
