A look back at the “A Day in the Life of a Programmer” workshop with Pass Culture!

Pass Culture Arts and Culture Careers Days

On the occasion of the Pass Culture Arts and Culture Careers Days, we were delighted to welcome a group of young people who came to discover, over the course of a morning, the profession of film programmer.

Through the screening of a selection of short films and discussions with programmer Claire Lasolle, a key reality of the profession emerged: being a programmer means knowing what you are looking for without knowing exactly what you will find. This role is particularly demanding in the context of a festival with competitive sections, as saying yes or no to a film carries a great responsibility—one that reflects the collective work, energy and commitment invested in each film.

In this way, programming gradually builds, piece by piece, a landscape in which films resonate with one another and support each other.

And the more films you watch and talk about, the sharper your eye becomes!
