London-based producer Jacqui Davies works with internationally acclaimed artists and filmmakers.
Davies is the sole producer of “Ray &Liz” (2018), debut feature by Richard Billingham. RAY Y LIZ premiered at Locarno and official selection in over 70 festivals and with 23 award nominations and winning 15 awards internationally and achieving extensive international distribution.
She produced “The Sky Trembles and the Earth is Afraid and the Two Eyes Are Not Brothers” by Ben Rivers, funded by Artangel / BFI (2015), and the large solo exhibition by Rivers, staged by Artangel in London. She was associate producer on “Ming of Harlem”, by Phillip Warnell and executive producer on “Female Human Animal” by Josh Appignanesi.
Davies was co-director of Animate Projects, and head of production for its Arts Council/Channel 4 funded commissioning and broadcast scheme, Animate. She has commissioned and produced over 50 artists’ films short films for Channel4 (Animate and Random Acts) including by David Shrigley, Run Wrake, Marina Abramovic, Martha, Rosler, Johan Grimonprez, Lewis Klahr, Mark Leckey, Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
She has produced and curated visual art projects and exhibitions, that relate to cinema materially, formally, or thematically, for gallery and site-specific exhibitions. These include several works and exhibitions by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, (“Primitive” and others), 10 works by Mark Wallinger, Jane & Louise Wilson, Semiconductor. Other large-scale gallery exhibition projects include: “Embodied”, exploring the relationship between documentary and performance in association with CPH:DOX at Nikolaj Kunsthal, Copenhagen. And produced a solo film installation exhibition Pauline Curnier Jardin’s “FAT TO ASHES”, at Hamburger Bahnhof 2021.
