Architects Michael Lin and Liao Wei-li showed a work at the 2012 Venice Biennale titled Architect/Geographer. They invited me to create a video for the exhibition space. We filmed at a preview of the exhibit at a factory in Yunlin. The first shot was of Hsiao Kang (Lee Kang-shen) sleeping. He fell asleep and snored. Then, we filmed him walking, as if if he was walking in his own dream. That dream resembled the scenario presented by the two architects. A formless void before the world began and a home that is far away.
