What is a landscape? Perhaps, first of all, and then too, words. Here we are in Belgium, in the province of Limburg, a former mining area, and the words will be those of the expedition reports written between 1865 and 1913 by a botanist taking us through its transformations: that hill, that factory, their inhabitants. A battered landscape, while we barely see, from a distance at twilight, a hill on the threshold of the visible. From words to images and back, here is another journey. (NF)
