Sestre, Sisters

After her older sister Isidora’s (25) suicide attempt, which was preceded by their argument, the younger sister Petra (11) spends her day in the hospital hiding from the social worker. Lost in the situation that has befallen her, she wanders through the hospital for hours, thinking about their relationship and family. After the social worker finds her, Petra finally faces Isidora.

Sara Ećimović (2001, Belgrade) graduated Digital Arts on the Faculty of Media and Communications in Belgrade. She is currently a Master’s student in Film Directing at the ENSAV film school in France. In April 2024, she exhibited in the group exhibition Absence/Presence and the Hidden Third. She currently works as a pre-selector at the Beldocs Film Festival. Her graduation film Sisters, which is awaiting its world premiere, received financial support from the Film Center of Serbia, as well as the award for Best Pitch at Bašta Fest 2025.
