Loves Of a Blond, Loves Of a Blond

Miloš Forman

Czech Republic, 1965, Black and white, 81’

Placing Les Amours d’une Blonde here at the festival’s closing is our way of saying goodbye to Miloš Forman, who recently passed away. It is, above all, a way of showing, as you have certainly understood, that Miloš Forman is still here among us, alive and well, and embodying - as few rarely do - such immense vitality at the heart of film practice. What he has left us with is nothing less than the legacy, in images and sounds, of an exemplary power of a rmation. This third feature-length film, produced in 1965 and belonging to Forman’s Czech period, gravitates around the forces of youth and love. Nothing about the scenario will be disclosed here: in a sense, the title sums it all up. We only sincerely wish for you to come and discover this film, if you do not know it; for you to watch it again, in a restored copy, if it has already struck a chord in your memory.
