Une Vie Violente, Une Vie Violente

Thierry de Peretti

France, 2017, Color, 107’

The journey of Stéphane, the son of a Corsican white-bread family who embraced political radicalism in the late 1990s. Thierry de Perreti avoids the pitfalls of showy drama, and turns this violent life into a fight between ideas and the dirty truths of reality. And when violence becomes concrete if devious, for Stéphane, who is neither a bad guy nor a martyr, standing by his political commitment isn’t the beginning of his downfall, but rather the proof of his reconciliation with himself, and with his island.
