This meeting in slight touches with Huang Da-Wang dwells upon his unfinished actions, how comfortable he feels when things pile up, the Blackwolf Tagashi of “Yingfan” with their improvised choreography, somewhere between karaoke and air-guitar. On Japan’s and Taiwan’s underground scene, he is a sound performer. All these characters actually make up one - a storyteller, a musician and a dancer all at once. Jessica WanYuLin’s film does not favour any specific facet, it evolves around an individual without silencing how he indulges or loses control. (GG)
