What is being told, strange though it might seem, is nothing new: a tale of children being exchanged, of exploitation, of archaism: such is the violence, in Brazil, of a fairly recent yet still feudal world. Then again, what is surprising, or what brings to the fore this testimony is the choice made in filmmaking : between radicalism and self-consciousness, between the literal invisibility in question and the science of framing.
