La Répétition Générale, La Répétition Générale

1980 was a big year for the Nancy Festival: people were lucky enough to watch Pina Bausch, Kazuo Ohno or American performer Pat Olesko dance. And, luckily, Werner Schroeter was there to film it. A collage film, La Répétition Générale weaves together rehearsals, interviews, readings, conversations about life and theatre, performances, poetic moments, all of this in a kaleidoscope of fragments which members of the audience may edit in their minds again and again as they please.
