Alexander Schellow

Alexander Schellow works as an artist and filmmaker in Brussels and Cologne

He deals closely with relations between space, perception and action at the junction between an artistic and scientific research. Since 1999, he has been working on reconstruction processes from memory, based on an ongoing daily drawing practice, which generates various formats of drawings, animations / films, archives, installations, readings, performances and texts.

His works, partially developed within collectives such as ARG or GREYZONE ZEBRA, have been distributed internationally in screenings, lectures and installations, recently a.o. @ Taipei Biennial, Khiasma Paris, BOZAR and WIELS Brussels, Mechelen Biennial, Casablanca Biennial, ANMASIVO Mexico City, IZIKO Museum Cape Town.

Since 2007, Alexander Schellow has been regularly teaching at universities a.o. in London, Paris, Tirana, Singapore, Mexico City and Brussels, where he holds a professorship (department Cinema d’animation, erg) since 2013.
