A sequence shot of the slightly slow-motion movement of hands massaging and caressing the surface, textured with scars like a zebra skin, of a vaguely anthropomorphic wax sculpture. For sound, we have the voice of Mathieu Amalric with a crude account of three nights of sex shared by Simon, Robert and Nessim, their African lover. With this ball of black material, a dark satellite as though detached from his feature film, Pierre Creton reveals the harrowing night-time reverse shot of A Beautiful Summer’s sweet, utopic community.
