OUTTAKE

Bambule (1969) is a film by Ulrike Meinhof, whose title borrows an African word meaning revolt and dance. We see a panic-stricken teenage girl running away from nuns in a convent. Dennis Adams segmented the scene into 416 still frames, which he hands out to pedestrians in a Berlin street and shoots with a hand-camera. The film reconstitutes itself, questioning the very images themselves, their disap- pearance and distribution. (NF)
