Ku Kyung-nam dreams of succeeding in a popular film that will bring him out of the arthouse world. This wish explains a lot, to start with the comical sigh that he utters in the first seconds of the film, before a volunteer brings him in a mini van to the offices of a festival where he makes a disastrous jury member, jealous of the homages paid to a younger director. In two symmetrical parts, in Jecheon and then on the island of Jeju, he is put back in his place, among the others. (AT)Hong Sang-soo
